I sending 14 sms and make 20 phone caĺls to people indicated like managers of apartment - no answer. Second day situation repeate. i waiting person who opened my door 4 hours and getting my luggage. Great transportation system around Berlin, lots to see and do. We didn't stay long enough to visit all we wanted to see. We didn't realise that a lot of the restaurants only take cash but luckily were close to a cash machine the first time we were caught out. We also didn't realise that most of the shops are closed on a Sunday in Berlin - I think this is useful info to know.

Walk through the Brandeburg gate, enjoy the East side gallery. Have a nice walk near the Sprea river in the evening. Taste typical food: Pork Knuckle, Curry wurst, bretzle and krapfen (and more..) On Sunday go out and visit the neighbours : Potsdam park and palace.

Berlin has a lot for everyone. History and monuments, nightlife and restaurants, strolls and picnics - whichever mode of passing your time you prefer, they have it there. Getting about is a breeze using the city's maginificent public transport and you'll feel safe virtually wherever you go. Besides, while traversing the city, you'll unwittingly learn a thing or two about its rich and often painful history. That's an added value.

The area of Dahlem, where the hotel is located, is also charming and green, placed in the vicinity of the Freie Universität Berling (but those who wish to commute to the city centre should know this is quite a distance from Dahlem to Mitte; the U-Bahn connection is very convenient though). I enjoyed the breakfasts, which offered a variety of food and slightly changed each day.

Altough the hotel is located some way from the city centre there are excellent communications with the tram system, several lines stop 200 meters from the hotel. There are also areas nearby where you can have a run without crossing too many streets.
